อกฺโกสภณฺฑนวิเหสการึ✎ ร่าง
“Akkosabhaṇḍanavihesakāriṁ,
“He never spoke a loud harsh word,
อุพฺพาธกรํ ๒- พหุชนปฺปมทฺทนํ✎ ร่าง
Ubbādhikaṁ bahujanappamaddanaṁ;
insulting, quarrelsome,
อพาฬฺหคิรํ โส นภณิ ผรุสํ✎ ร่าง
Abāḷhaṁ giraṁ so na bhaṇi pharusaṁ,
causing harm, rude, crushing the people.
มธุรํ ภณิ สุสหิตํ สขิลํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Madhuraṁ bhaṇi susaṁhitaṁ sakhilaṁ.
His speech was sweet, helpful, and courteous.
มนโส ปิยา หทยคามินิโย✎ ร่าง
Manaso piyā hadayagāminiyo,
He uttered words dear to the mind,

วาจา โส เอรยติ กณฺณสุขา✎ ร่าง
Vācā so erayati kaṇṇasukhā;
going to the heart, pleasing to the ear.
วาจา สุจิณฺณผลมนุภวิ✎ ร่าง
Vācāsuciṇṇaphalamanubhavi,
He enjoyed the fruit of his good verbal conduct,
สคฺเคสุ เวทยิถ ๑- ปุญฺญผลํ✎ ร่าง
Saggesu vedayatha puññaphalaṁ.
experiencing the fruit of good deeds in heaven.
วิทิตฺวา โส สุจริตสฺส ผลํ✎ ร่าง
Veditvā so sucaritassa phalaṁ,
Having experienced that fruit,
พฺรหฺมสฺสรตฺตมิธชฺฌคมา✎ ร่าง
Brahmassarattamidhamajjhagamā;
on his return to here he acquired the voice of the Divinity.
ชิวฺหาสฺส โหติ วิปุลา ปุถุลา✎ ร่าง
Jivhāssa hoti vipulā puthulā,
His tongue was long and wide,
อาเทยฺยวากฺยวจโน ภวติ✎ ร่าง
Ādeyyavākyavacano bhavati.
and his speech was compelling.
คิหิโนปิ อิชฺฌติ ยถา ภณโต✎ ร่าง
Gihinopi ijjhati yathā bhaṇato,
Even as householder his speech brings prosperity.

But if that man goes forth,
อาทิยนฺตสฺส วจนํ ชนกา✎ ร่าง

พหุโน พหุํ สุภณิตํ ภณโตติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Bahuno bahuṁ subhaṇitaṁ bhaṇato”ti.
they’ll be compelled by his fair words.”
