[๒] พระผู้มีพระภาคได้ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย มีสมณพราหมณ์
พวกหนึ่ง มีวาทะอย่างนี้ มีทิฐิอย่างนี้ว่า ปุริสบุคคลนี้ย่อมเสวยเวทนาอย่างใด
อย่างหนึ่ง เป็นสุขก็ดี เป็นทุกข์ก็ดี มิใช่ทุกข์มิใช่สุขก็ดี ข้อนั้นทั้งหมดเป็นเพราะ
เหตุแห่งกรรมที่ตนทำไว้ในก่อน ทั้งนี้ เพราะหมดกรรมเก่าด้วยตบะ ไม่ทำกรรมใหม่
จักมีความไม่ถูกบังคับต่อไป เพราะไม่ถูกบังคับต่อไป จักมีความสิ้นกรรม เพราะ
สิ้นกรรม จักมีความสิ้นทุกข์ เพราะสิ้นทุกข์ จักมีความสิ้นเวทนา เพราะสิ้น
เวทนา ทุกข์ทั้งปวงจักเป็นของอันปุริสบุคคลนั้นสลัดได้แล้ว ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย
พวกนิครนถ์มักมีวาทะอย่างนี้ ฯ

ekaṁ samayaṁ bhagavā sakkesu viharati devadahaṁ nāma sakyānaṁ nigamo.
At one time the Buddha was staying in the land of the Sakyans, near the Sakyan town named Devadaha.
สนฺติ ภิกฺขเว เอเก สมณพฺราหฺมณา
เอวํวาทิโน เอวํทิฏฺฐิโน🤖 AI จับคู่
“santi, bhikkhave, eke samaṇabrāhmaṇā evaṁvādino evaṁdiṭṭhino:
“Mendicants, there are some ascetics and brahmins who have this doctrine and view:
ยงฺกิญฺจายํ ปุริสปุคฺคโล ปฏิสํเวเทติ สุขํ
วา ทุกฺขํ วา อทุกฺขมสุขํ วา สพฺพนฺตํ ปุพฺเพ กตเหตุ🤖 AI จับคู่
‘yaṁ kiñcāyaṁ purisapuggalo paṭisaṁvedeti sukhaṁ vā dukkhaṁ vā adukkhamasukhaṁ vā, sabbaṁ taṁ pubbekatahetu.
‘Everything this individual person experiences—pleasurable, painful, or neutral—is because of past deeds.
อิติ
ปุราณานํ กมฺมานํ ตปสา พฺยนฺติภาวา นวานํ กมฺมานํ อกรณา
อายตึ อนวสฺสโว🤖 AI จับคู่
Iti purāṇānaṁ kammānaṁ tapasā byantībhāvā, navānaṁ kammānaṁ akaraṇā, āyatiṁ anavassavo;
So, due to eliminating past deeds by fervent mortification, and not doing any new deeds, there’s nothing to come up in the future.
อายตึ อนวสฺสวา กมฺมกฺขโย กมฺมกฺขยา
ทุกฺขกฺขโย ทุกฺขกฺขยา เวทนากฺขโย เวทนากฺขยา สพฺพํ ทุกฺขํ
นิชฺชิณฺณํ ภวิสฺสตีติ🤖 AI จับคู่
āyatiṁ anavassavā kammakkhayo; kammakkhayā dukkhakkhayo; dukkhakkhayā vedanākkhayo; vedanākkhayā sabbaṁ dukkhaṁ nijjiṇṇaṁ bhavissatī’ti.
With no future consequence, deeds end. With the ending of deeds, suffering ends. With the ending of suffering, feeling ends. And with the ending of feeling, all suffering will have been worn away.’

Such is the doctrine of the Jain ascetics.
