[๗๗๗] น. ดูกรน้องหญิงทั้งหลาย เราเปรียบอุปมานี้เพื่อให้เข้าใจเนื้อ
ความชัด เนื้อความในอุปมานั้น มีดังต่อไปนี้ ดูกรน้องหญิงทั้งหลาย ข้อว่าส่วน
เนื้อข้างในนั้น เป็นชื่อของอายตนะภายใน ๖ ส่วนหนังข้างนอกนั้น เป็นชื่อของ
อายตนะภายนอก ๖ เนื้อล่ำในระหว่าง เอ็นในระหว่าง เครื่องผูกในระหว่าง นั้น
เป็นชื่อของนันทิราคะ มีดแล่โคอันคมนั้น เป็นชื่อของปัญญาอันประเสริฐ ซึ่ง
ใช้เถือ แล่ คว้านกิเลสในระหว่าง สัญโญชน์ในระหว่าง เครื่องผูกใน
ระหว่างได้ ฯ
อุปมา โข เม อยํ ภคินิโย กตา อตฺถสฺส วิญฺญาปนาย ฯ✎ ร่าง
“Upamā kho me ayaṁ, bhaginiyo, katā atthassa viññāpanāya.
“I’ve made up this simile to make a point.
อยเมเวตฺถ อตฺโถ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ayamevettha attho;
And this is the point.
อนฺตโร มํสกาโยติ โข ภคินิโย ฉนฺเนตํ
อชฺฌตฺติกานํ อายตนานํ อธิวจนํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
‘antarā maṁsakāyo’ti kho, bhaginiyo, channetaṁ ajjhattikānaṁ āyatanānaṁ adhivacanaṁ;
‘The inner flesh’ is a term for the six interior sense fields.
พาหิโร จมฺมกาโยติ
โข ภคินิโย ฉนฺเนตํ พาหิรานํ อายตนานํ อธิวจนํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
‘bāhiro cammakāyo’ti kho, bhaginiyo, channetaṁ bāhirānaṁ āyatanānaṁ adhivacanaṁ;
‘The outer hide’ is a term for the six exterior sense fields.
อนฺตรา
วิลิมํสํ อนฺตรา นหารู อนฺตรา พนฺธนฺติ โข ภคินิโย นนฺทิราคสฺเสตํ
อธิวจนํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
‘antarā vilimaṁsaṁ, antarā nhāru, antarā bandhanan’ti kho, bhaginiyo, nandīrāgassetaṁ adhivacanaṁ;
‘The connecting tendons, sinews, and ligaments’ is a term for greed and relishing.
ติณฺหํ โควิกนฺตนนฺติ โข ภคินิโย อริยาเยตํ
ปญฺญาย อธิวจนํ✎ ร่าง
‘tiṇhaṁ govikantanan’ti kho, bhaginiyo, ariyāyetaṁ paññāya adhivacanaṁ;
‘A sharp meat cleaver’ is a term for noble wisdom.
ยายํ อริยา ปญฺญา อนฺตรา กิเลสํ อนฺตรา
สญฺโญชนํ อนฺตรา พนฺธนํ สญฺฉินฺทติ สงฺกนฺตติ สมฺปริกนฺตติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
yāyaṁ ariyā paññā antarā kilesaṁ antarā saṁyojanaṁ antarā bandhanaṁ sañchindati saṅkantati sampakantati samparikantati.
And it is that noble wisdom which cuts, carves, severs, and slices the connecting corruption, fetter, and bond.
