[๕๖๒] สหัมบดีพรหม ได้กราบทูลดังนี้แล้ว ครั้นแล้วได้กล่าวนิคม คาถาอีกว่า พระสัมพุทธเจ้าทั้งหลายเหล่าใดที่ล่วงไปแล้วก็ดี พระพุทธเจ้า ทั้งหลายเหล่าใดที่ยังไม่มีมาก็ดี และพระสัมพุทธเจ้าพระองค์ ใดในบัดนี้ผู้ยังความโศกของชนเป็นอันมากให้เสื่อมหายก็ดี พระพุทธเจ้าเหล่านั้นทุกพระองค์ ทรงเคารพพระสัทธรรม อยู่แล้ว ยังอยู่ และจักอยู่ต่อไป ข้อนี้เป็นธรรมดาของ พระพุทธเจ้าทั้งหลาย เพราะเหตุนั้นแหละ กุลบุตรผู้รักตน หวังความเป็นผู้ใหญ่ เมื่อระลึกถึงคำสอนของพระพุทธเจ้า ทั้งหลาย พึงเคารพพระสัทธรรม ฯ

Idamavoca brahmā sahampati, idaṁ vatvā athāparaṁ etadavoca:

This is what the divinity Sahampati said. Then he went on to say:

เย จ อตีตา สมฺพุทฺธา✎ ร่าง

“Ye ca atītā sambuddhā,

“All Buddhas in the past,

ye ca buddhā anāgatā;

the Buddhas of the future,

Yo cetarahi sambuddho,

and the Buddha at present—

พหุนฺนํ ๑- โสกนาสโน✎ ร่าง

bahūnaṁ sokanāsano.

destroyer of the sorrows of many—

sn6.2:9.1 #

สพฺเพ สทฺธมฺมครุโน✎ ร่าง

Sabbe saddhammagaruno,

respecting the true teaching

sn6.2:9.2 #

วิหรึสุ ๒- วิหรนฺติ จ อ✎ ร่าง

vihaṁsu viharanti ca;

they did live, they do live,

sn6.2:9.3 #

ถาปิ วิหริสฺสนฺติ✎ ร่าง

Tathāpi viharissanti,

and they also will live.

sn6.2:9.4 #

เอสา พุทฺธาน ธมฺมตา✎ ร่าง

esā buddhāna dhammatā.

This is the nature of the Buddhas.

sn6.2:10.1 #

ตสฺมา หิ อตฺตกาเมน✎ ร่าง

Tasmā hi attakāmena,

Therefore someone who desires self-knowledge,

มหตฺตมภิกงฺขตา✎ ร่าง

mahattamabhikaṅkhatā;

and aspires to greatness themselves,

sn6.2:10.3 #

สทฺธมฺโม ครุกาตพฺโพ✎ ร่าง

Saddhammo garukātabbo,

should respect the true teaching,

สรํ พุทฺธาน สาสนนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง

saraṁ buddhāna sāsanan”ti.

remembering the instructions of the Buddhas.”
