ปุนปฺปุนํ เจว วปนฺติ พีชํ✎ ร่าง
“Punappunañceva vapanti bījaṁ,
“Again and again, they sow the seed;
อ้างอิงสยามรัฐ 15.256
ปุนปฺปุนํ วสฺสติ เทวราชา✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ vassati devarājā;
again and again, the king of the heavens sends rain;
ปุนปฺปุนํ เขตฺตํ กสนฺติ กสฺสกา✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ khettaṁ kasanti kassakā,
again and again, farmers plough the field;
ปุนปฺปุนํ ธญฺญมุเปนฺติ รฏฺฐํ✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ dhaññamupeti raṭṭhaṁ.
again and again, grain is produced for the nation.
ปุนปฺปุนํ ยาจกา ยาจยนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ yācakā yācayanti,
Again and again, the beggars beg;
ปุนปฺปุนํ ทานปตี ททนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ dānapatī dadanti;
again and again, the donors give.
ปุนปฺปุนํ ทานปตี ททิตฺวา✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ dānapatī daditvā,
Again and again, when the donors have given,
ปุนปฺปุนํ สคฺคมุเปนฺติ ฐานํ✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ saggamupenti ṭhānaṁ.
again and again, they take their place in heaven.
ปุนปฺปุนํ ขีรณิกา ทุหนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ khīranikā duhanti,
Again and again, dairy farmers milk;
ปุนปฺปุนํ วจฺโฉ อุเปติ มาตรํ✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ vaccho upeti mātaraṁ;
again and again, a calf cleaves to its mother;
ปุนปฺปุนํ กิลมติ ผนฺทติ จ✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ kilamati phandati ca,
again and again, oppressing and intimidating,
ปุนปฺปุนํ คพฺภมุเปติ มนฺโท✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ gabbhamupeti mando.
that dullard returns to the womb again and again.
ปุนปฺปุนํ ชายติ มิยฺยติ จ✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ jāyati mīyati ca,
Again and again, you’re reborn and die;
ปุนปฺปุนํ สีวถิกํ หรนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Punappunaṁ sivathikaṁ haranti;
again and again, you get carried to a charnel ground.
มคฺคญฺจ ลทฺธา อปุนพฺภวาย✎ ร่าง
Maggañca laddhā apunabbhavāya,
But when they’ve gained the path for no further rebirth,
ปุนปฺปุนํ ๑- ชายติ ภูริปญฺโญติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Na punappunaṁ jāyati bhūripañño”ti.
one of vast wisdom is not reborn again and again.”
