ยาวญฺจิทํ
โภตา กจฺจาเนน คุตฺตทฺวาโรว สมาโน คุตฺตทฺวาโรติ ๒- อกฺขาโต ฯ✎ ร่าง
Yāvañcidaṁ bhotā kaccānena guttadvārova samāno guttadvāroti akkhāto.
How accurately you’ve explained someone whose sense doors are guarded!
อภิกฺกนฺตํ โภ กจฺจาน อภิกฺกนฺตํ โก กจฺจาน✎ ร่าง
Abhikkantaṁ, bho kaccāna; abhikkantaṁ, bho kaccāna.
Excellent, worthy Kaccāna! Excellent!
เสยฺยถาปิ
โภ กจฺจาน นิกฺกุชฺชิตํ วา อุกฺกุชฺเชยฺย ปฏิจฺฉนฺนํ วา วิวเรยฺย
มูฬฺหสฺส วา มคฺคํ อาจิกฺเขยฺย อนฺธกาเร วา เตลปฺปชฺโชตํ
ธาเรยฺย จกฺขุมนฺโต รูปานิ ทกฺขนฺตีติ ฯ เอวเมวํ โภ กจฺจาเนน
อเนกปริยาเยน ธมฺโม ปกาสิโต ฯ✎ ร่าง
Seyyathāpi, bho kaccāna, nikkujjitaṁ vā ukkujjeyya, paṭicchannaṁ vā vivareyya, mūḷhassa vā maggaṁ ācikkheyya, andhakāre vā telapajjotaṁ dhāreyya: ‘cakkhumanto rūpāni dakkhantī’ti; evamevaṁ bhotā kaccānena anekapariyāyena dhammo pakāsito.
As if he were righting the overturned, or revealing the hidden, or pointing out the path to the lost, or lighting a lamp in the dark so people with clear eyes can see what’s there, the worthy Kaccāna has made the teaching clear in many ways.
เอสาหํ โภ กจฺจาน ตํ

ภควนฺตํ สรณํ คจฺฉามิ ธมฺมญฺจ ภิกฺขุสงฺฆญฺจ✎ ร่าง
Esāhaṁ, bho kaccāna, taṁ bhagavantaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchāmi, dhammañca, bhikkhusaṅghañca.
I go for refuge to the Buddha, to the teaching, and to the mendicant Saṅgha.
อุปาสกํ มํ ภวํ
กจฺจาโน ธาเรตุ อชฺชตคฺเค ปาณุเปตํ สรณงฺคตํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Upāsakaṁ maṁ bhavaṁ kaccāno dhāretu ajjatagge pāṇupetaṁ saraṇaṁ gataṁ.
From this day forth, may the worthy Kaccāna remember me as a lay follower who has gone for refuge for life.
ยถา จ ภวํ
กจฺจาโน มกฺกรกเฏ อุปาสกกุลานิ อุปสงฺกมติ เอวเมวํ โลหิจฺจกุลํ
อุปสงฺกมตุ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Yathā ca bhavaṁ kaccāno makkarakate upāsakakulāni upasaṅkamati; evameva lohiccakulaṁ upasaṅkamatu.
Please come to my family just as you go to the families of the lay followers in Makkarakaṭa.
ตตฺถ เย มาณวกา มาณวิกา วา ภวนฺตํ กจฺจานํ
อภิวาเทสฺสนฺติ ปจฺจุปฏฺฐิสฺสนฺติ อาหริสฺสนฺติ อาสนํ วา อุทกํ
วา ทสฺสนฺติ เตสนฺตํ ภวิสฺสติ ทีฆรตฺตํ หิตาย สุขายาติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Tattha ye māṇavakā vā māṇavikā vā bhavantaṁ kaccānaṁ abhivādessanti paccuṭṭhissanti āsanaṁ vā udakaṁ vā dassanti, tesaṁ taṁ bhavissati dīgharattaṁ hitāya sukhāyā”ti.
The brahmin boys and girls there will bow to you, rise in your presence, and give you a seat and water. That will be for their lasting welfare and happiness.”
