[๕๗๒] ข้าแต่ท่านผู้เจริญ ก็ปริยายที่เป็นเหตุให้ธรรมเหล่านี้อาศัยแล้ว
เป็นธรรมมีอรรถต่างกัน และมีพยัญชนะต่างกันเป็นไฉน ข้าแต่ท่านผู้เจริญ ภิกษุ
ในพระธรรมวินัยนี้ มีจิตประกอบด้วยเมตตาแผ่ไปตลอดทิศหนึ่งอยู่ ทิศที่ ๒ ทิศ
ที่ ๓ ทิศที่ ๔ ก็เหมือนกัน โดยนัยนี้ ทั้งเบื้องบน เบื้องล่าง เบื้องขวาง แผ่
ไปตลอดโลก ทั่วสัตว์ทุกเหล่า ในที่ทุกสถาน ด้วยใจอันประกอบด้วยเมตตาอัน
ไพบูลย์ ถึงความเป็นใหญ่ หาประมาณมิได้ ไม่มีเวร ไม่มีความเบียดเบียนอยู่
มีใจประกอบด้วยกรุณา...ประกอบด้วยมุทิตา...ประกอบด้วยอุเบกขาแผ่ไปตลอดทิศ
หนึ่งอยู่ ทิศที่ ๒ ทิศที่ ๓ ทิศที่ ๔ ก็เหมือนกัน โดยนัยนี้ ทั้งเบื้องบน
เบื้องล่าง เบื้องขวาง แผ่ไปตลอดโลก ทั่วสัตว์ทุกเหล่า ในที่ทุกสถาน ด้วยใจ
อันประกอบด้วยอุเบกขาอันไพบูลย์ ถึงความเป็นใหญ่ หาประมาณมิได้ ไม่มีเวร
ไม่มีความเบียดเบียนอยู่ ข้าแต่ท่านผู้เจริญ นี้เรียกว่า อัปปมาณาเจโตวิมุติ ฯ

กตโม จ ภนฺเต ปริยาโย ยํ ปริยายํ อาคมฺม อิเม
ธมฺมา นานตฺถา เจว นานาพฺยญฺชนา จ ฯ✎ ร่าง
“Katamo ca, bhante, pariyāyo yaṁ pariyāyaṁ āgamma ime dhammā nānatthā ceva nānābyañjanā ca?

เมตฺตาสหคเตน เจตสา เอกํ ทิสํ ผริตฺวา วิหรติ ฯ ตถา ทุติยํ ฯ
ตถา ตติยํ ฯ ตถา จตุตฺถํ ฯ อิติ อุทฺธมโธ ติริยํ สพฺพธิ

Idha, bhante, bhikkhu mettāsahagatena cetasā ekaṁ disaṁ pharitvā viharati, tathā dutiyaṁ, tathā tatiyaṁ, tathā catutthaṁ. Iti uddhamadho tiriyaṁ sabbadhi sabbattatāya sabbāvantaṁ lokaṁ mettāsahagatena cetasā vipulena mahaggatena appamāṇena averena abyāpajjena pharitvā viharati.
It’s when a mendicant meditates spreading a heart full of love to one direction, and to the second, and to the third, and to the fourth. In the same way above, below, across, everywhere, all around, they spread a heart full of love to the whole world—abundant, expansive, limitless, free of enmity and ill will.

อุเปกฺขาสหคเตน
เจตสา เอกํ ทิสํ ผริตฺวา วิหรติ ฯ ตถา ทุติยํ ฯ ตถา ตติยํ ฯ ตถา
จตุตฺถํ ฯ อิติ อุทฺธมโธ ติริยํ สพฺพธิ สพฺพตฺตตาย สพฺพาวนฺตํ โลกํ
อุเปกฺขาสหคเตน เจตสา วิปุเลน มหคฺคเตน อปฺปมาเณน อเวเรน
อพฺยาปชฺเฌน ผริตฺวา วิหรติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
upekkhāsahagatena cetasā ekaṁ disaṁ pharitvā viharati, tathā dutiyaṁ, tathā tatiyaṁ, tathā catutthaṁ. Iti uddhamadho tiriyaṁ sabbadhi sabbattatāya sabbāvantaṁ lokaṁ upekkhāsahagatena cetasā vipulena mahaggatena appamāṇena averena abyāpajjena pharitvā viharati.
They meditate spreading a heart full of equanimity to one direction, and to the second, and to the third, and to the fourth. In the same way above, below, across, everywhere, all around, they spread a heart full of equanimity to the whole world—abundant, expansive, limitless, free of enmity and ill will.
อยํ วุจฺจติ ภนฺเต อปฺปมาณา ๑-
เจโตวิมุตฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ayaṁ vuccati, bhante, appamāṇā cetovimutti.
This is called the limitless release of the heart.
