[๖๐๙] พ. ดูกรนายคามณี ก็นิครณถ์นาฏบุตรแสดงธรรมแก่พวกสาวก ว่า กรรมใดๆ มาก กรรมนั้นๆ ย่อมนำบุคคลไป เมื่อเป็นเช่นนั้น ใครๆ จักไม่ไปอบาย ตกนรก ตามคำของนิครณถ์นาฏบุตร ดูกรนายคามณี ท่านจะ สำคัญความข้อนั้นเป็นไฉน บุรุษฆ่าสัตว์รวมทั้งสมัยและไม่ใช่สมัย ทั้งกลางคืน และกลางวัน สมัยที่เขาฆ่าสัตว์ หรือสมัยที่เขาไม่ฆ่าสัตว์ สมัยไหนมาก กว่ากัน ฯ คา. ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ บุรุษฆ่าสัตว์รวมทั้งสมัยและมิใช่สมัย ทั้ง กลางคืนและกลางวัน สมัยที่เขาฆ่าสัตว์น้อยกว่า สมัยที่เขาไม่ได้ฆ่าสัตว์มากกว่า พระเจ้าข้า ฯ พ. ดูกรนายคามณี ก็นิครณถ์นาฏบุตรแสดงธรรมแก่พวกสาวกว่า กรรม ใดๆ มาก กรรมนั้นๆ ย่อมนำบุคคลนั้นไป เมื่อเป็นเช่นนั้น ใครๆ จักไม่ ไปอบาย ตกนรก ตามคำของนิครณถ์นาฏบุตร ฯ

ยํ พหุลํ ยํ พหุลํ จ คามณิ วิหรติ เตน เตน นิยฺยตีติ ฯ เอวํ สนฺเต น โกจิ อาปายิโก เนรยิโก ภวิสฺสติ ยถา นิคณฺฐสฺส นาฏปุตฺตสฺส วจนํ ฯ✎ ร่าง

“‘Yaṁbahulaṁ yaṁbahulañca, gāmaṇi, viharati, tena tena nīyati’, evaṁ sante na koci āpāyiko nerayiko bhavissati, yathā nigaṇṭhassa nāṭaputtassa vacanaṁ.

“‘You’re led on by what you usually live by’: if this were true, then, according to what the Jain Ñātika says, no-one would go to a place of loss, to hell.

โย โส ปุริโส ปาณาติปาตี รตฺติยา วา ทิวสสฺส วา สมยาสมยํ อุปาทาย กตโม พหุตโร สมโย ยํ ๒- โส ปาณํ อติมาเปติ ยํ วา โส ปาณํ นาติมาเปตีติ ฯ✎ ร่าง

yo so puriso pāṇātipātī rattiyā vā divasassa vā samayāsamayaṁ upādāya, katamo bahutaro samayo, yaṁ vā so pāṇamatipāteti, yaṁ vā so pāṇaṁ nātipātetī”ti?

Take an individual who kills living creatures. If we compare periods of time during the day and night, which is more frequent: the occasions when they’re killing or when they’re not killing?”

sn42.8:2.3 #

โย โส ภนฺเต ปุริโส ปาณาติปาตี รตฺติยา วา ทิวสสฺส วา สมยาสมยํ อุปาทาย อปฺปตโร โส สมโย ยํ โส ปาณํ อติมาเปติ ฯ อถ โข เสฺวว พหุตโร สมโย ยํ โส ปาณํ นาติมาเปตีติ ฯ✎ ร่าง

“Yo so, bhante, puriso pāṇātipātī rattiyā vā divasassa vā samayāsamayaṁ upādāya, appataro so samayo yaṁ so pāṇamatipāteti, atha kho sveva bahutaro samayo yaṁ so pāṇaṁ nātipātetī”ti.

“The occasions when they’re killing are less frequent, while the occasions when they’re not killing are more frequent.”
