[๗๗๔] ดูกรท่านอานนท์ อะไรหนอ เป็นเหตุเป็นปัจจัย เครื่องทำให้พระสัทธรรม
เสื่อม อะไรหนอเป็นเหตุเป็นปัจจัย เครื่องทำให้พระสัทธรรมไม่เสื่อม?
ท่านพระอานนท์กล่าวว่า ดีละๆ ท่านภัททะ ท่านช่างคิด ช่างเฉียบแหลม ช่างไต่
ถามเหมาะๆ ก็ท่านถามอย่างนี้หรือว่า ดูกรอานนท์ อะไรหนอ เป็นเหตุเป็นปัจจัย เครื่องทำให้
พระสัทธรรมเสื่อม อะไรหนอ เป็นเหตุเป็นปัจจัย เครื่องทำให้พระสัทธรรมไม่เสื่อม.
ภ. อย่างนั้น ท่านผู้เจริญ.
โก นุ โข อาวุโส อานนฺท เหตุ โก ปจฺจโย เยน
สทฺธมฺมปริหานํ โหติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
“ko nu kho, āvuso ānanda, hetu, ko paccayo yena saddhammaparihānaṁ hoti?
“What’s the cause, Reverend Ānanda, what’s the reason why the true teaching declines?
โก นุ โข อาวุโส อานนฺท เหตุ โก
ปจฺจโย เยน สทฺธมฺมอปริหานํ โหตีติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ko nu kho, āvuso ānanda, hetu, ko paccayo yena saddhammaaparihānaṁ hotī”ti?
And what’s the cause, what’s the reason why the true teaching doesn’t decline?”
สาธุ สาธุ อาวุโส

“Sādhu sādhu, āvuso bhadda.
“Good, good, Reverend Bhadda!

ภทฺทโก โข เต อาวุโส ภทฺท อุมฺมคฺโค ภทฺทกํ
ปฏิภาณํ กลฺยาณี ปริปุจฺฉา ฯ✎ ร่าง
Bhaddako kho te, āvuso bhadda, ummaṅgo, bhaddakaṁ paṭibhānaṁ, kalyāṇī paripucchā.
Your approach and eloquence are excellent, and it’s a good question.
เอวญฺหิ ตฺวํ อาวุโส ภทฺท
ปุจฺฉสิ✎ ร่าง
Evañhi tvaṁ, āvuso bhadda, pucchasi:
For you asked:
โก นุ โข อาวุโส อานนฺท เหตุ โก ปจฺจโย เยน
สทฺธมฺมปริหานํ โหติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
‘ko nu kho, āvuso ānanda, hetu, ko paccayo yena saddhammaparihānaṁ hoti?
‘What’s the cause, what’s the reason why the true teaching declines?
โก ปนาวุโส อานนฺท เหตุ โก ปจฺจโย
เยน สทฺธมฺมอปริหานํ โหตีติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ko panāvuso ānanda, hetu, ko paccayo yena saddhammaaparihānaṁ hotī’”ti?
And what’s the cause, what’s the reason why the true teaching doesn’t decline?’”
เอวมาวุโสติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
“Evamāvuso”ti.
“Yes, reverend.”
