[๘๑] ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุผู้เถระประกอบด้วยธรรม ๕ ประการ
ย่อมไม่เป็นที่รัก ไม่เป็นที่พอใจ ไม่เป็นที่เคารพ และไม่เป็นที่ยกย่องของเพื่อน
พรหมจรรย์ ธรรม ๕ ประการเป็นไฉน คือ ภิกษุผู้เถระย่อมกำหนัดในสิ่งอันเป็น
ที่ตั้งแห่งความกำหนัด ๑ ย่อมขัดเคืองในสิ่งอันเป็นที่ตั้งแห่งความขัดเคือง ๑ ย่อม
หลงในสิ่งอันเป็นที่ตั้งแห่งความหลง ๑ ย่อมโกรธในสิ่งอันเป็นที่ตั้งแห่งความ
โกรธ ๑ ย่อมมัวเมาในสิ่งอันเป็นที่ตั้งแห่งความมัวเมา ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย
ภิกษุผู้เถระประกอบด้วยธรรม ๕ ประการนี้แล ย่อมไม่เป็นที่รัก ไม่เป็นที่พอใจ
ไม่เป็นที่เคารพ และไม่เป็นที่ยกย่องของเพื่อนพรหมจรรย์ ฯ
ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุผู้เป็นเถระประกอบด้วยธรรม ๕ ประการ ย่อม
เป็นที่รัก เป็นที่พอใจ เป็นที่เคารพ และเป็นที่ยกย่องของเพื่อนพรหมจรรย์
ธรรม ๕ ประการเป็นไฉน คือ ภิกษุผู้เถระย่อมไม่กำหนัดในสิ่งอันเป็นที่ตั้งแห่ง
ความกำหนัด ๑ ย่อมไม่ขัดเคืองในสิ่งอันเป็นที่ตั้งแห่งความขัดเคือง ๑ ย่อมไม่
หลงในสิ่งอันเป็นที่ตั้งแห่งความหลง ๑ ย่อมไม่โกรธในสิ่งอันเป็นที่ตั้งแห่งความ
โกรธ ๑ ย่อมไม่มัวเมาในสิ่งอันเป็นที่ตั้งแห่งความมัวเมา ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย
ภิกษุผู้เถระประกอบด้วยธรรม ๕ ประการนี้แล ย่อมเป็นที่รัก เป็นที่พอใจ เป็น
ที่เคารพ และเป็นที่ยกย่องของเพื่อนพรหมจรรย์ ฯ
