อิธ สนฺทก เอกจฺโจ สตฺถา เอวํวาที โหติ เอวํทิฏฺฐี✎ ร่าง
“Idha, sandaka, ekacco satthā evaṁvādī hoti evaṁdiṭṭhi:
“Sandaka, take a certain teacher who has this doctrine and view:

นตฺถิ ทินฺนํ นตฺถิ ยิฏฺฐํ นตฺถิ หุตํ นตฺถิ สุกฏทุกฺกฏานํ กมฺมานํ
ผลํ วิปาโก นตฺถิ อยํ โลโก นตฺถิ ปโร ๔- โลโก นตฺถิ
มาตา นตฺถิ ปิตา นตฺถิ สตฺตา โอปปาติกา นตฺถิ โลเก
สมณพฺราหฺมณา สมฺมคฺคตา สมฺมาปฏิปนฺนา เย อิมญฺจ
โลกํ ปรญฺจ โลกํ สยํ อภิญฺญา สจฺฉิกตฺวา ปเวเทนฺติ✎ ร่าง
‘natthi dinnaṁ, natthi yiṭṭhaṁ, natthi hutaṁ, natthi sukatadukkaṭānaṁ kammānaṁ phalaṁ vipāko, natthi ayaṁ loko, natthi paroloko, natthi mātā, natthi pitā, natthi sattā opapātikā, natthi loke samaṇabrāhmaṇā sammaggatā sammāpaṭipannā ye imañca lokaṁ parañca lokaṁ sayaṁ abhiññā sacchikatvā pavedenti.
‘There’s no meaning in giving, sacrifice, or offerings. There’s no fruit or result of good and bad deeds. There’s no afterlife. There’s no such thing as mother and father, or beings that are reborn spontaneously. And there’s no ascetic or brahmin who is rightly comported and rightly practiced, and who describes the afterlife after realizing it with their own insight.
จาตุมฺมหาภูติโก อยํ ปุริโส ยทา กาลํ กโรติ ปฐวี ปฐวิกายํ
อนุเปติ อนุปคจฺฉติ อาโป อาโปกายํ อนุเปติ อนุปคจฺฉติ เตโช
เตโชกายํ อนุเปติ อนุปคจฺฉติ วาโย วาโยกายํ อนุเปติ อนุปคจฺฉติ

อากาสํ อินฺทฺริยานิ สงฺกมนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Cātumahābhūtiko ayaṁ puriso yadā kālaṁ karoti, pathavī pathavīkāyaṁ anupeti anupagacchati, āpo āpokāyaṁ anupeti anupagacchati, tejo tejokāyaṁ anupeti anupagacchati, vāyo vāyokāyaṁ anupeti anupagacchati, ākāsaṁ indriyāni saṅkamanti.
This person is made up of the four principal states. When they die, the earth in their body progresses and proceeds to the substance of earth. The water in their body progresses and proceeds to the substance of water. The fire in their body progresses and proceeds to the substance of fire. The air in their body progresses and proceeds to the substance of air. The faculties are transferred to space.
อาสนฺทิปญฺจมา ปุริสา
มตํ อาทาย คจฺฉนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Āsandipañcamā purisā mataṁ ādāya gacchanti,
Four men with a bier carry away the corpse.
ยาว อาฬหนา ๑- ปทานิ ปญฺญายนฺติ✎ ร่าง
yāvāḷāhanā padāni paññāyanti.
Their footprints show the way to the cremation ground.
กาโปตกานิ อฏฺฐีนิ ภวนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Kāpotakāni aṭṭhīni bhavanti.
The bones become bleached.
ภสฺมนฺตา หุติโย✎ ร่าง
Bhassantā āhutiyo;
Offerings dedicated to the gods end in ashes.
ทตฺตุปญฺญตฺตํ
ยทิทํ ทานํ✎ ร่าง
dattupaññattaṁ yadidaṁ dānaṁ.
Giving is a doctrine of morons.
เตสํ ตุจฺฉํ ๒- มุสา วิลาโป เยเกจิ อตฺถิกวาทํ วทนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Tesaṁ tucchā musā vilāpo ye keci atthikavādaṁ vadanti.
When anyone affirms a positive teaching it’s just hollow, false nonsense.
พาเล จ ปณฺฑิเต จ กายสฺส เภทา อุจฺฉิชฺชนฺติ วินสฺสนฺติ น
โหนฺติ ปรมฺมรณาติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Bāle ca paṇḍite ca kāyassa bhedā ucchijjanti vinassanti na honti paraṁ maraṇā’ti.
Both the foolish and the astute are annihilated and destroyed when their body breaks up, and they don’t exist after death.’
