[๕๘๗] ครั้งนั้นแล พระผู้มีพระภาคได้ทรงมีพระดำริว่า อุตตรมาณพนี้เห็นมหาปุริส- *ลักษณะ ๓๒ ประการของเราโดยมากเว้นอยู่ ๒ ประการ คือ คุยหฐานอันเร้นอยู่ในฝัก ๑ ชิวหาใหญ่ ๑ จึงยังเคลือบแคลง สงสัย ไม่น้อมใจเชื่อ ไม่เลื่อมใส ในพระมหาปุริสลักษณะ ๒ ประการ. ลำดับนั้นแล พระผู้มีพระภาคจึงทรงบันดาลอิทธาภิสังขาร ให้อุตตรมาณพได้เห็น พระคุยหฐานอันเร้นอยู่ในฝัก. และทรงแลบพระชิวหาสอดเข้าช่องพระกรรณทั้งสองกลับไปมา สอดเข้าช่องพระนาสิกทั้งสองกลับไปมา ทรงแผ่พระชิวหาปิดมณฑลพระนลาตทั้งสิ้น.

Then it occurred to the Buddha,

mn91:6.9 #

ปสฺสติ โข เม อยํ อุตฺตโร มาณโว ทฺวตฺตึส มหาปุริสลกฺขณานิ เยภุยฺเยน ฐเปตฺวา เทฺว✎ ร่าง

“passati kho me ayaṁ uttaro māṇavo dvattiṁsamahāpurisalakkhaṇāni, yebhuyyena thapetvā dve.

“This student Uttara sees all the marks except for two,

ทฺวีสุ มหาปุริสลกฺขเณสุ กงฺขติ วิจิกิจฺฉติ นาธิมุจฺจติ น สํปสีทติ✎ ร่าง

Dvīsu mahāpurisalakkhaṇesu kaṅkhati vicikicchati nādhimuccati na sampasīdati—

which he has doubts about:

โกโสหิเต จ วตฺถคุเยฺห ปหุตชิวฺหตาย จาติ ฯ✎ ร่าง

kosohite ca vatthaguyhe pahūtajivhatāya cā”ti.

whether the private parts are sheathed in a foreskin, and the largeness of the tongue.”

mn91:7.1 #

อถ โข ภควา ตถารูปํ อิทฺธาภิสงฺขารํ อภิสงฺขาเรสิ ๑- ยถา อทฺทส ๒- อุตฺตโร มาณโว ภควา ๓- โกโสหิตํ วตฺถคุยฺหํ ฯ✎ ร่าง

Atha kho bhagavā tathārūpaṁ iddhābhisaṅkhāraṁ abhisaṅkhāsi yathā addasa uttaro māṇavo bhagavato kosohitaṁ vatthaguyhaṁ.

So the Buddha used his psychic power to will that Uttara would see his private parts sheathed in a foreskin.

mn91:7.2 #

อถ โข ภควา ชิวฺหํ นินฺนาเมตฺวา อุโภปิ กณฺณโสตานิ อนุมสิ ปฏิมสิ อุโภปิ นาสิกโสตานิ อนุมสิ ปฏิมสิ เกวลกปฺปํ ๔- นลาฏมณฺฑลํ ชิวฺหาย ฉาเทสิ ๕- ฯ✎ ร่าง

Atha kho bhagavā jivhaṁ ninnāmetvā ubhopi kaṇṇasotāni anumasi paṭimasi; ubhopi nāsikasotāni anumasi paṭimasi; kevalampi nalāṭamaṇḍalaṁ jivhāya chādesi.

And he stuck out his tongue and stroked back and forth on his ear holes and nostrils, and covered his entire forehead with his tongue.
