เอตรหิ โข ปน ภิกฺขเว อิมสฺส เวปุลฺลสฺส ปพฺพตสฺส
เวปุลฺโลเตฺวว สมญฺญา อุทปาทิ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Etarahi kho pana, bhikkhave, imassa vepullassa pabbatassa ‘vepullo’tveva samaññā udapādi.
These days this Mount Vepulla is known as Vepulla.

อิเมสํ มนุสฺสานํ มาคธกาตฺเวว สมญฺญา อุทปาทิ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Etarahi kho pana, bhikkhave, imesaṁ manussānaṁ ‘māgadhakā’tveva samaññā udapādi.
And these people are known as Magadhans.
มาคธกานํ
ภิกฺขเว มนุสฺสานํ อปฺปกํ อายุปฺปมาณํ ปริตฺตกํ ลหุกํ✎ ร่าง
Māgadhakānaṁ, bhikkhave, manussānaṁ appakaṁ āyuppamāṇaṁ parittaṁ lahukaṁ;
The lifespan of the Magadhans is short, brief, and fleeting.
โย จิรํ
ชีวติ โส วสฺสสตํ อปฺปํ วา ภิยฺโย วา ฯ✎ ร่าง
yo ciraṁ jīvati so vassasataṁ appaṁ vā bhiyyo.
A long life is a hundred years or a little more.
มาคธกา ภิกฺขเว มนุสฺสา
เวปุลฺลํ ปพฺพตํ มุหุตฺเตเนว อาโรหนฺติ มุหุตฺเตน โอโรหนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Māgadhakā, bhikkhave, manussā vepullaṁ pabbataṁ muhuttena ārohanti muhuttena orohanti.
It takes the Magadhans an hour to climb Mount Vepulla, and an hour to descend.
เอตรหิ โข ปนายํ ภิกฺขเว อรหํ สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺโธ โลเก อุปฺปนฺโน ฯ✎ ร่าง
Etarahi kho panāhaṁ, bhikkhave, arahaṁ sammāsambuddho loke uppanno.
And now I am the Blessed One, the perfected one, the fully awakened Buddha who has arisen in the world.
มยฺหํ โข ปน ภิกฺขเว สารีปุตฺตโมคฺคลฺลานํ นาม สาวกยุคํ
อคฺคํ ภทฺทยุคํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Mayhaṁ kho pana, bhikkhave, sāriputtamoggallānaṁ nāma sāvakayugaṁ aggaṁ bhaddayugaṁ.
I have a fine pair of chief disciples named Sāriputta and Moggallāna.
ภวิสฺสติ ภิกฺขเว โส สมโย ยา อยญฺเจวิมสฺส
ปพฺพตสฺส สมญฺญา อนฺตรธายิสฺสติ อิเม จ มนุสฺสา กาลํ
กริสฺสนฺติ อหญฺจ ปรินิพฺพายิสฺสามิ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Bhavissati, bhikkhave, so samayo yā ayañcevimassa pabbatassa samaññā antaradhāyissati, ime ca manussā kālaṁ karissanti, ahañca parinibbāyissāmi.
There will come a time when this mountain’s name will vanish, those people will die, and I will be fully extinguished.
เอวํ อนิจฺจา ภิกฺขเว
สงฺขารา✎ ร่าง
Evaṁ aniccā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā;
So impermanent are conditions,
เอวํ อทฺธุวา ภิกฺขเว สงฺขารา✎ ร่าง
evaṁ addhuvā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā;
so unstable are conditions,
เอวํ อนสฺสาสิกา
ภิกฺขเว สงฺขารา ฯ✎ ร่าง
evaṁ anassāsikā, bhikkhave, saṅkhārā.
so unreliable are conditions.
ยาวญฺจิทํ ภิกฺขเว อลเมว สพฺพสงฺขาเรสุ
นิพฺพินฺทิตุํ อลํ วิรชฺชิตุํ อลํ วิมุจฺจิตุนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Yāvañcidaṁ, bhikkhave, alameva sabbasaṅkhāresu nibbindituṁ, alaṁ virajjituṁ, alaṁ vimuccitun”ti.
This is quite enough for you to become disillusioned, dispassionate, and freed regarding all conditions.”
