Idha, bhikkhave, khettaṁ unnāmaninnāmi ca hoti, pāsāṇasakkharikañca hoti, ūsarañca hoti, na ca gambhīrasitaṁ hoti, na āyasampannaṁ hoti, na apāyasampannaṁ hoti, na mātikāsampannaṁ hoti, na mariyādasampannaṁ hoti.
It’s when a field has mounds and ditches. It has stones and gravel. It’s salty. It doesn’t have deep furrows. And it’s not equipped with water inlets, water outlets, irrigation channels, and boundaries.
เอวเมว โข
ภิกฺขเว อฏฺฐงฺคสมนฺนาคเตสุ สมณพฺราหฺมเณสุ ทานํ ทินฺนํ นมหปฺผลํ

อิธ ภิกฺขเว สมณพฺราหฺมณา มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐิกา โหนฺติ มิจฺฉาสงฺกปฺปา
มิจฺฉาวาจา มิจฺฉากมฺมนฺตา มิจฺฉาอาชีวา มิจฺฉาวายามา
มิจฺฉาสติโน มิจฺฉาสมาธิโน🤖 AI จับคู่
Idha, bhikkhave, samaṇabrāhmaṇā micchādiṭṭhikā honti, micchāsaṅkappā, micchāvācā, micchākammantā, micchāājīvā, micchāvāyāmā, micchāsatino, micchāsamādhino.
It’s when an ascetic or brahmin has wrong view, wrong purpose, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, and wrong immersion.
เอวํ อฏฺฐงฺคสมนฺนาคเตสุ ภิกฺขเว
สมณพฺราหฺมเณสุ ทานํ ทินฺนํ นมหปฺผลํ โหติ นมหานิสํสํ นมหาชุติกํ

It’s when an ascetic or brahmin has right view, right purpose, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion.

hoti dhaññassa sampadā.
the crop of grain will be excellent.

Anītisampadā hoti,
The absence of crop loss is excellent,
วิรูฬฺหิ ภวติ สมฺปทา🤖 AI จับคู่
virūḷhī bhavati sampadā;
its growth is excellent,
เวปุลฺลํ สมฺปทา โหติ🤖 AI จับคู่
Vepullasampadā hoti,
its maturation is excellent,
ผลํ เว โหติ สมฺปทา🤖 AI จับคู่
phalaṁ ve hoti sampadā.
and its fruit is excellent.
เอวํ สมฺปนฺนสีเลสุ🤖 AI จับคู่
Evaṁ sampannasīlesu,
So too, when you give excellent food
ทินฺนา โภชนสมฺปทา🤖 AI จับคู่
dinnā bhojanasampadā;
to those of excellent ethics,
สมฺปทานํ อุปเนติ🤖 AI จับคู่
Sampadānaṁ upaneti,
it leads to many excellences,
สมฺปนฺนํ หิสฺส ตํ กตํ🤖 AI จับคู่
sampannaṁ hissa taṁ kataṁ.
for what you did was excellent.
ตสฺมา สมฺปทมากงฺขี🤖 AI จับคู่
Tasmā sampadamākaṅkhī,
So if a person wants excellence,
สมฺปนฺนตฺถูธ ปุคฺคโล🤖 AI จับคู่
sampannatthūdha puggalo;
let them excel in this.
สมฺปนฺนปญฺเญ เสเวถ🤖 AI จับคู่
Sampannapaññe sevetha,
You should frequent those with excellent wisdom,
เอวํ อิชฺฌนฺติ สมฺปทา🤖 AI จับคู่
evaṁ ijjhanti sampadā.
so that your own excellence will flourish.
วิชฺชาจรณสมฺปนฺโน🤖 AI จับคู่
Vijjācaraṇasampanne,
Excelling in knowledge and conduct,
ลทฺธา จิตฺตสฺส สมฺปทํ🤖 AI จับคู่
laddhā cittassa sampadaṁ;
and having excellence of mind,
กโรติ กมฺมสมฺปทํ🤖 AI จับคู่
Karoti kammasampadaṁ,
you perform excellent deeds,
ลภติ จตฺถสมฺปทํ🤖 AI จับคู่
labhati catthasampadaṁ.
and gain excellent benefits.
โลกํ ญตฺวา ยถาภูตํ🤖 AI จับคู่
Lokaṁ ñatvā yathābhūtaṁ,
Truly knowing the world,
ปปฺปุยฺย ทิฏฺฐิสมฺปทํ🤖 AI จับคู่
pappuyya diṭṭhisampadaṁ;
and having attained excellence of view,
มคฺคสมฺปทมาคมฺม🤖 AI จับคู่
Maggasampadamāgamma,
one who excels in mind proceeds,
ยาติ สมฺปนฺนมานโส🤖 AI จับคู่
yāti sampannamānaso.
relying on excellence in the path.
โอธุนิตฺวา มลํ สพฺพํ🤖 AI จับคู่
Odhunitvā malaṁ sabbaṁ,
Shaking off all stains,

and attaining the excellence of extinguishment,

you’re freed from all sufferings:

sā hoti sabbasampadā”ti.
this is complete excellence.”
