เอวมฺเม สุตํ ฯ เอกํ สมยํ ภควา สาวตฺถิยํ
วิหรติ เชตวเน อนาถปิณฺฑิกสฺส อาราเม ฯ✎ ร่าง
ekaṁ samayaṁ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṁ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme.
At one time the Buddha was staying near Sāvatthī in Jeta’s Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika’s monastery.
เตน โข ปน สมเยน
ภควา ภิกฺขูนํ ๓- นิพฺพานปฏิสํยุตฺตาย ธมฺมิยา กถาย สนฺทสฺเสติ
สมาทเปติ สมุตฺเตเชติ สมฺปหํเสติ✎ ร่าง
Tena kho pana samayena bhagavā bhikkhū nibbānapaṭisaṁyuttāya dhammiyā kathāya sandasseti samādapeti samuttejeti sampahaṁseti.
Now at that time the Buddha was educating, encouraging, firing up, and inspiring the mendicants with a Dhamma talk about extinguishment.
เต ๔- จ ภิกฺขู อฏฺฐิกตฺวา
มนสิกตฺวา สพฺพญฺเจตโส สมนฺนาหริตฺวา โอหิตโสตา ธมฺมํ สุณนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Tedha bhikkhū aṭṭhiṁ katvā manasi katvā sabbaṁ cetaso samannāharitvā ohitasotā dhammaṁ suṇanti.
And those mendicants were paying attention, applying the mind, concentrating wholeheartedly, and actively listening.
อถ โข ภควา เอตมตฺถํ วิทิตฺวา ตายํ เวลายํ อิมํ อุทานํ
อุทาเนสิ✎ ร่าง
Atha kho bhagavā etamatthaṁ viditvā tāyaṁ velāyaṁ imaṁ udānaṁ udānesi:
Then, understanding this matter, on that occasion the Buddha expressed this heartfelt sentiment:
อตฺถิ ภิกฺขเว ตทายตนํ ยตฺถ เนว ปฐวี น อาโป
น เตโช น วาโย น อากาสานญฺจายตนํ น วิญฺญาณญฺจายตนํ
น อากิญฺจญฺญายตนํ น เนวสญฺญานาสญฺญายตนํ นายํ โลโก
น ปรโลโก น อุโภ จนฺทิมสุริยา✎ ร่าง
“Atthi, bhikkhave, tadāyatanaṁ, yattha neva pathavī, na āpo, na tejo, na vāyo, na ākāsānañcāyatanaṁ, na viññāṇañcāyatanaṁ, na ākiñcaññāyatanaṁ, na nevasaññānāsaññāyatanaṁ, nāyaṁ loko, na paraloko, na ubho candimasūriyā.
“There is, mendicants, that dimension where there is no earth, no water, no fire, no wind; no dimension of infinite space, no dimension of infinite consciousness, no dimension of nothingness, no dimension of neither perception nor non-perception; no this world, no other world, no moon or sun.

There, mendicants, I say there is no coming or going or remaining or passing away or reappearing.
อปฺปติฏฺฐํ อปฺปวตฺตํ
อนารมฺมณเมว ตํ✎ ร่าง
appatiṭṭhaṁ, appavattaṁ, anārammaṇamevetaṁ.
It is not established, does not proceed, and has no support.
เอเสวนฺโต ทุกฺขสฺสาติ ฯ สุตฺตํ✎ ร่าง
Esevanto dukkhassā”ti.
Just this is the end of suffering.”
