Having Wrong View
วุตฺตํ เหตํ ภควตา วุตฺตมรหตาติ เม สุตํ✎ ร่าง
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

ทิฏฺฐา
มยา ภิกฺขเว สตฺตา กายทุจฺจริเตน สมนฺนาคตา วจีทุจฺจริเตน
สมนฺนาคตา มโนทุจฺจริเตน สมนฺนาคตา อริยานํ อุปวาทกา
มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐิกา มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐิกมฺมสมาทานา✎ ร่าง
“Diṭṭhā mayā, bhikkhave, sattā kāyaduccaritena samannāgatā vacīduccaritena samannāgatā manoduccaritena samannāgatā ariyānaṁ upavādakā micchādiṭṭhikā micchādiṭṭhikammasamādānā.
“Mendicants, I’ve seen beings who engaged in misconduct by body, speech, and mind, who denounced the noble ones, who had wrong views and acted accordingly.
เต กายสฺส เภทา
ปรมฺมรณา อปายํ ทุคฺคตึ วินิปาตํ นิรยํ อุปปนฺนา ฯ✎ ร่าง
Te kāyassa bhedā paraṁ maraṇā apāyaṁ duggatiṁ vinipātaṁ nirayaṁ upapannā.
At the breaking up of the body, after death, they were reborn in a place of loss, a bad place, the underworld, hell.
ตํ โข ปนาหํ ภิกฺขเว นาญฺญสฺส สมณสฺส วา
พฺราหฺมณสฺส วา สุตฺวา วทามิ✎ ร่าง
Taṁ kho panāhaṁ, bhikkhave, nāññassa samaṇassa vā brāhmaṇassa vā sutvā vadāmi.
Now, I don’t say this because I’ve heard it from some other ascetic or brahmin.

Te kāyassa bhedā paraṁ maraṇā apāyaṁ duggatiṁ vinipātaṁ nirayaṁ upapannā.
อปิ จ ภิกฺขเว ยเทว สามํ ญาตํ สามํ ทิฏฺฐํ สามํ วิทิตํ
ตเทวาหํ วทามิ✎ ร่าง
Api ca, bhikkhave, yadeva sāmaṁ ñātaṁ sāmaṁ diṭṭhaṁ sāmaṁ viditaṁ tadevāhaṁ vadāmi.
I only say it because I’ve known, seen, and realized it for myself.”
ทิฏฺฐา มยา ภิกฺขเว สตฺตา กายทุจฺจริเตน สมนฺนาคตา
วจีทุจฺจริเตน สมนฺนาคตา มโนทุจฺจริเตน สมนฺนาคตา อริยานํ
อุปวาทกา มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐิกา มิจฺฉาทิฏฺฐิกมฺมสมาทานา✎ ร่าง
Diṭṭhā mayā, bhikkhave, sattā kāyaduccaritena samannāgatā vacīduccaritena samannāgatā manoduccaritena samannāgatā ariyānaṁ upavādakā micchādiṭṭhikā micchādiṭṭhikammasamādānā.
เต กายสฺส
เภทา ปรมฺมรณา อปายํ ทุคฺคตึ วินิปาตํ นิรยํ อุปปนฺนาติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Te kāyassa bhedā paraṁ maraṇā apāyaṁ duggatiṁ vinipātaṁ nirayaṁ upapannā”ti.
เอตมตฺถํ ภควา อโวจ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca.
The Buddha spoke this matter.
ตตฺเถตํ อิติ วุจฺจติ✎ ร่าง
Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
On this it is said:
มิจฺฉามนํ ปณิธาย✎ ร่าง
“Micchā manaṁ paṇidhāya,
“When the mind has been misdirected,
มิจฺฉาวาจํ ๑- อภาสิย✎ ร่าง
micchā vācañca bhāsiya;
and words wrongly spoken,
มิจฺฉากมฺมานิ กตฺวาน✎ ร่าง
Micchā kammāni katvāna,
and wrong bodily deeds have been done,
กาเยน อิธ ปุคฺคโล✎ ร่าง
kāyena idha puggalo.
an individual here
อปฺปสฺสุโต อปุญฺญกโร✎ ร่าง
Appassutāpuññakaro,
unlearned, doer of bad deeds,
อปฺปสฺมึ อิธ ชีวิเต✎ ร่าง
appasmiṁ idha jīvite;
though their life may be short,
กายสฺส เภทา ทุปฺปญฺโญ✎ ร่าง
Kāyassa bhedā duppañño,
when their body breaks up, that witless person
นิรยํ โส อุปปชฺชตีติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
nirayaṁ sopapajjatī”ti.
is reborn in hell.”
อยมฺปิ อตฺโถ วุตฺโต ภควตา อิติ เม สุตนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
