ยํปิ ภิกฺขเว ตถาคโต ปุริมํ ชาตึ ปุริมํ ภวํ ปุริมํ
นิเกตํ ปุพฺเพ มนุสฺสภูโต สมาโน✎ ร่าง
“Yampi, bhikkhave, tathāgato purimaṁ jātiṁ purimaṁ bhavaṁ purimaṁ niketaṁ pubbe manussabhūto samāno
“Mendicants, in some past lives the Realized One was reborn as a human being.

ทาตา อโหสิ ปณีตานํ รสิตานํ
ขาทนียานํ โภชนียานํ สายนียานํ เลหนียานํ ปานานํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
dātā ahosi paṇītānaṁ rasitānaṁ khādanīyānaṁ bhojanīyānaṁ sāyanīyānaṁ lehanīyānaṁ pānānaṁ.
He was a donor of delicious and tasty cooked and fresh foods, and drinks that were sweet and succulent.
โส ตสฺส
กมฺมสฺส กตตฺตา อุปจิตตฺตา ฯเปฯ กายสฺส เภทา ปรํ มรณา
สุคตึ สคฺคํ โลกํ อุปปชฺชติ ฯเปฯ✎ ร่าง
So tassa kammassa kaṭattā …pe…
Due to performing those deeds he was reborn in a heavenly realm.
โส ตโต จุโต อิตฺถตฺตํ อาคโต
สมาโน อิมํ มหาปุริสลกฺขณํ ปฏิลภติ สตฺตสฺส อุสฺสทา ๒-
โหนฺติ✎ ร่าง
so tato cuto itthattaṁ āgato samāno imaṁ mahāpurisalakkhaṇaṁ paṭilabhati, sattussado hoti, sattassa ussadā honti;
When he came back to this place he obtained this mark: he has bulging muscles in seven places.
อุโภสุ หตฺเถสุ อุสฺสทา โหนฺติ อุโภสุ ปาเทสุ อุสฺสทา
โหนฺติ อุโภสุ อํสกูเฏสุ อุสฺสทา โหนฺติ ขนฺเธ อุสฺสทา โหนฺติ ๓- ฯ✎ ร่าง
ubhosu hatthesu ussadā honti, ubhosu pādesu ussadā honti, ubhosu aṁsakūṭesu ussadā honti, khandhe ussado hoti.
Both hands, both feet, both shoulders, and his chest are all bulging.
โส เตน ลกฺขเณน สมนฺนาคโต สเจ อคารํ อชฺฌาวสติ
ราชา โหติ จกฺกวตฺติ ฯเปฯ✎ ร่าง
So tena lakkhaṇena samannāgato sace agāraṁ ajjhāvasati, rājā hoti cakkavattī …pe…
Possessing this mark, if he stays at home he becomes a wheel-turning monarch.

Lābhī hoti paṇītānaṁ rasitānaṁ khādanīyānaṁ bhojanīyānaṁ sāyanīyānaṁ lehanīyānaṁ pānānaṁ.

That’s what he obtains as king.

And what does he obtain as Buddha?
