[๒๑๐] พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสตอบว่า
รูปของสัตว์ทั้งหลายย่อมทรุดโทรม นามและโคตรย่อมไม่
ทรุดโทรม ราคะท่านเรียกว่าทางผิด ความโลภเป็นอันตราย
ของธรรม วัยสิ้นไปตามคืนและวัน หญิงเป็นมลทินของ
พรหมจรรย์ หมู่สัตว์นี้ย่อมข้องอยู่ในหญิงนี้ ตบะและ
พรหมจรรย์ทั้งสองนั้น มิใช่น้ำแต่เป็นเครื่องชำระล้าง ในโลก
มีช่องอยู่ ๖ ช่องที่จิตไม่ตั้งอยู่ได้ คือความเกียจคร้าน ๑ ความ
ประมาท ๑ ความไม่หมั่น ๑ ความไม่สำรวม ๑ ความมัก
หลับ ๑ ความอ้างเลศไม่ทำงาน ๑ พึงเว้นช่องทั้ง ๖ เหล่านั้น
เสียโดยประการทั้งปวงเถิด ฯ
รูปํ ชีรติ มจฺจานํ✎ ร่าง
“Rūpaṁ jīrati maccānaṁ,
“The physical form of mortals gets old,
นามโคตฺตํ น ชีรติ✎ ร่าง
nāmagottaṁ na jīrati;
but their name and clan don’t.
ราโค อุปฺปโถติ วุจฺจติ✎ ร่าง
Rāgo uppathoti vuccati.
Lust is called a deviation,
โลโภ ธมฺมานํ ปริปนฺโถ✎ ร่าง
Lobho dhammānaṁ paripantho,
and greed is a roadblock for skillful qualities.
วโย รตฺตินฺทิวกฺขโย✎ ร่าง
Vayo rattindivakkhayo;
Youth is ending day and night.
อิตฺถี มลํ พฺรหฺมจริยสฺส✎ ร่าง
Itthī malaṁ brahmacariyassa,
Women are the stain of chastity,
เอตฺถายํ สชฺชเต ปชา✎ ร่าง
Etthāyaṁ sajjate pajā;
to which this generation clings.
ตโป จ พฺรหฺมจริยญฺจ✎ ร่าง
Tapo ca brahmacariyañca,
Fervor and chastity
ตํ สินานมโนทกํ✎ ร่าง
Taṁ sinānamanodakaṁ.
are the waterless bath.
ฉ โลกสฺมิ ฉิทฺทานิ✎ ร่าง
Cha lokasmiṁ chiddāni,
There are six holes in the world,
ยตฺถ จิตฺตํ ๓- น ติฏฺฐติ✎ ร่าง
yattha vittaṁ na tiṭṭhati;
where one’s wealth leaks out:
อาลสฺยญฺจ ปมาโท จ✎ ร่าง
Ālasyañca pamādo ca,
laziness and negligence,
อนุฏฺฐานมสํยโม✎ ร่าง
anuṭṭhānaṁ asaṁyamo;
lack of initiative and lack of restraint,
นิทฺทา ตนฺที จ เต ฉิทฺเท✎ ร่าง
Niddā tandī ca te chidde,
sleepiness and sloth.
สพฺพโส ตํ วิวชฺชเยติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
sabbaso taṁ vivajjaye”ti.
You should completely get rid of these holes!”
