เนื้อความทั้งข้อ
[๕๒] ครั้งนั้นแล พระผู้มีพระภาคได้ตรัสกะเทวดานั้นด้วยคาถา
ทั้งหลายว่า
สัตว์ทั้งหลายมีความสำคัญในข้อที่ได้รับบอก ติดอยู่ในข้อที่ได้
รับบอก ไม่กำหนดรู้ข้อที่ได้รับบอก ย่อมมาสู่อำนาจแห่งมัจจุ
ส่วนขีณาสวภิกษุกำหนดรู้ข้อที่ได้รับบอก ย่อมไม่สำคัญ
ข้อที่ได้รับบอกแล้ว เพราะข้อที่ได้รับบอกนั้น ย่อมไม่มีแก่
ขีณาสวภิกษุนั้น ฉะนั้น เหตุที่จะพึงพูดถึงข้อที่ได้รับบอก
จึงมิได้มีแก่ขีณาสวภิกษุนั้น ดูกรเทวดา ถ้าท่านเข้าใจ
ก็จงพูด ฯ
เทวดานั้นทูลว่า ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ ข้าพระองค์ไม่ทราบเนื้อความแห่ง
ธรรมนี้ ที่พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสโดยย่อให้ได้ความโดยพิสดารได้ ข้าแต่พระองค์
ผู้เจริญ ข้าพระองค์ขอพระโอกาส ข้าพระองค์พึงทราบเนื้อความแห่งธรรมนี้ ที่
พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสโดยย่อให้ได้ความโดยพิสดารได้อย่างไร พระผู้มีพระภาค
โปรดตรัสแก่ข้าพระองค์อย่างนั้นเถิด ฯ
อถ โข ภควา ตํ เทวตํ คาถาหิ อชฺฌภาสิ✎ ร่าง
Atha kho bhagavā taṁ devataṁ gāthāhi ajjhabhāsi:
Then the Buddha addressed the deity in verse:
อกฺเขยฺยสญฺญิโน สตฺตา✎ ร่าง
“Akkheyyasaññino sattā,
“Sentient beings who perceive the communicable,
อกฺเขยฺยสฺมึ ปติฏฺฐิตา✎ ร่าง
akkheyyasmiṁ patiṭṭhitā;
become established in the communicable.
อกฺเขยฺยมปริญฺญาย✎ ร่าง
Akkheyyaṁ apariññāya,
Not understanding the communicable,
โยคมายนฺติ มจฺจุโน✎ ร่าง
yogamāyanti maccuno.
they fall under the yoke of Death.
อกฺเขยฺยญฺจ ปริญฺญาย✎ ร่าง
Akkheyyañca pariññāya,
But having fully understood the communicable,
อกฺขาตารํ น มญฺญติ✎ ร่าง
Akkhātāraṁ na maññati;
they don’t conceive a communicator,
ตญฺหิ ตสฺส น โหตีติ✎ ร่าง
Tañhi tassa na hotīti,
for they have nothing
เยน นํ วชฺชา น ตสฺส อตฺถิ✎ ร่าง
Yena naṁ vajjā na tassa atthi;
by which they might be described.
สเจ วิชานาสิ วเทหิ ยกฺขาติ ๓- ฯ✎ ร่าง
Sace vijānāsi vadehi yakkhā”ti.
Tell me if you understand, spirit.”
น ขฺวาหํ ภนฺเต อิมสฺส ภควตา สงฺขิตฺเตน ภาสิตสฺส วิตฺถาเรน อตฺถํ
อาชานามิ✎ ร่าง
“Na khvāhaṁ, bhante, imassa bhagavatā saṅkhittena bhāsitassa vitthārena atthaṁ ājānāmi.
“I don’t understand the detailed meaning of the Buddha’s brief statement.
สาธุ เม ภนฺเต ภควา ตถา ภาสตุ ยถาหํ อิมสฺส
ภควตา สงฺขิตฺเตน ภาสิตสฺส วิตฺถาเรน อตฺถํ อาชาเนยฺยนฺติ ๔- ฯ✎ ร่าง
Sādhu me, bhante, bhagavā tathā bhāsatu yathāhaṁ imassa bhagavatā saṅkhittena bhāsitassa vitthārena atthaṁ jāneyyan”ti.
Please teach me this matter so I can understand the detailed meaning.”
