ตตฺร สุทํ ภิกฺขเว พฺรหฺมา จ พฺรหฺมปริสา จ
พฺรหฺมปาริสชฺชา จ อจฺฉริยพฺภูตจิตฺตชาตา อเหสุํ✎ ร่าง
Tatra sudaṁ, bhikkhave, brahmā ca brahmaparisā ca brahmapārisajjā ca acchariyabbhutacittajātā ahesuṁ:
And the Divinity, his assembly, and his retinue, their minds full of wonder and amazement, thought,
อจฺฉริยํ วต โภ
อพฺภูตํ วต โภ สมณสฺส มหิทฺธิกตา มหานุภาวตาติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
‘acchariyaṁ vata bho, abbhutaṁ vata bho, samaṇassa mahiddhikatā mahānubhāvatā’ti.
‘Oh lord, how incredible, how amazing! The ascetic has such psychic power and might!’

โข ภิกฺขเว ๒- อภิภู ภิกฺขุ สิขึ ภควนฺตํ อรหนฺตํ สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธํ

Atha kho abhibhū bhikkhu sikhiṁ bhagavantaṁ arahantaṁ sammāsambuddhaṁ etadavoca:
Then Abhibhū said to the Buddha Sikhī,

อภิชานามิ ขฺวาหํ ภนฺเต ภิกฺขุสงฺฆสฺส มชฺเฌ
เอวรูปึ วาจํ ภาสิตา✎ ร่าง
‘abhijānāmi khvāhaṁ, bhante, bhikkhusaṅghassa majjhe evarūpiṁ vācaṁ bhāsitā—
‘Sir, I recall having said this in the middle of the Saṅgha:
ปโหมิ ขฺวาหํ อาวุโส พฺรหฺมโลเก ฐิโต
สหสฺสีโลกธาตุํ สเรน วิญฺญาเปตุนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
pahomi khvāhaṁ, āvuso, brahmaloke ṭhito sahassilokadhātuṁ sarena viññāpetun’ti.
“Standing in the realm of divinity, I can make my voice heard throughout the thousandfold galaxy.”’
เอตสฺส พฺราหฺมณ กาโล
เอตสฺส พฺราหฺมณ กาโล✎ ร่าง
‘Etassa, brāhmaṇa, kālo, etassa, brāhmaṇa, kālo;
‘Now is the time, brahmin! Now is the time, brahmin!
ยํ ตฺวํ พฺราหฺมณ พฺรหฺมโลเก ฐิโต

Standing in the realm of divinity, make your voice heard throughout the thousandfold galaxy.’
เอวํ ภนฺเตติ โข ภิกฺขเว
อภิภู ภิกฺขุ สิขิสฺส ภควโต อรหโต สมฺมาสมฺพุทฺธสฺส ปฏิสฺสุตฺวา
พฺรหฺมโลเก ฐิโต อิมา คาถาโย อภาสิ✎ ร่าง
‘Evaṁ, bhante’ti kho, bhikkhave, abhibhū bhikkhu sikhissa bhagavato arahato sammāsambuddhassa paṭissutvā brahmaloke ṭhito imā gāthāyo abhāsi:
‘Yes, sir,’ replied Abhibhū. Standing in the realm of divinity, he spoke this verse:
อารพฺภถ นิกฺกมถ✎ ร่าง
‘Ārambhatha nikkamatha,
‘Rouse yourselves! Try harder!
ยุญฺชถ พุทฺธสาสเน✎ ร่าง
Yuñjatha buddhasāsane;
Devote yourselves to the teachings of the Buddha!
ธุนาถ มจฺจุโน เสนํ✎ ร่าง
Dhunātha maccuno senaṁ,
Crush the army of Death,
นฬาคารํว กุญฺชโร✎ ร่าง
Naḷāgāraṁva kuñjaro.
as an elephant a hut of reeds.
โย อิมสฺมึ ธมฺมวินเย✎ ร่าง
Yo imasmiṁ dhammavinaye,
Whoever shall meditate diligently

อปฺปมตฺโต วิเหสฺสติ✎ ร่าง
appamatto vihassati;
in this teaching and training,
ปหาย ชาติสํสารํ✎ ร่าง
Pahāya jātisaṁsāraṁ,
giving up transmigration through rebirths,
ทุกฺขสฺสนฺตํ กริสฺสตีติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
dukkhassantaṁ karissatī’ti.
will make an end of suffering.’
