[๘๑๖] ยักษ์กล่าวว่า
ท่านได้สดับต่อพระอรหันต์ทั้งหลายว่า ชนเหล่าใดเข้าอยู่
อุโบสถอันประกอบด้วยองค์ ๘ ประการ ตลอดดิถีที่ ๑๔
ที่ ๑๕ และที่ ๘ แห่งปักษ์ ทั้งตลอดปาริหาริกปักษ์ ประพฤติ
พรหมจรรย์อยู่ ยักษ์ทั้งหลายย่อมไม่เล่นกับชนเหล่านั้น เป็น
การชอบ ท่านพึงบอกสานุผู้ฟื้นขึ้นแล้วว่า ยักษ์สั่งคำนี้ไว้ว่า
ท่านอย่าได้กระทำกรรมอันลามกทั้งในที่แจ้งและที่ลับ ถ้าท่าน
จักกระทำหรือกำลังกระทำกรรมอันลามกไซร้ ถึงท่านจะเหาะ
หนีไปก็ไม่พ้นจากทุกข์ ฯ
จาตุทฺทสึ ปญฺจทสึ✎ ร่าง
“Cātuddasiṁ pañcadasiṁ,
“What you heard from the perfected ones is right.
ยา จ ปกฺขสฺส อฏฺฐมี✎ ร่าง
yā ca pakkhassa aṭṭhamī;
The native spirits will not mess with anyone
ปาริหาริกปกฺขญฺจ✎ ร่าง
Pāṭihāriyapakkhañca,
who leads the spiritual life
อฏฺฐงฺคสุสมาคตํ✎ ร่าง
aṭṭhaṅgasusamāgataṁ;
by observing the sabbath
อุโปสถํ อุปวสนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Uposathaṁ upavasanti,
complete in all eight factors
พฺรหฺมจริยํ จรนฺติ เย✎ ร่าง
brahmacariyaṁ caranti ye.
on the fourteenth and the fifteenth days,
น เตหิ ยกฺขา กีฬนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Na tehi yakkhā kīḷanti,
and the eighth day of the fortnight,
สาหุ ๑- เต อรหตํ สุตํ✎ ร่าง
sāhu te arahataṁ sutaṁ;
as well as on the fortnight of special displays.
สานุํ ปพุทฺธํ วชฺชาสิ✎ ร่าง
Sānuṁ pabuddhaṁ vajjāsi,
When Sānu regains consciousness tell him
ยกฺขานํ วจนํ อิทํ✎ ร่าง
yakkhānaṁ vacanaṁ idaṁ;
this saying of the native spirits:
มากาสิ ปาปกํ กมฺมํ✎ ร่าง
Mākāsi pāpakaṁ kammaṁ,
Don’t do bad deeds
อาวิ วา ยทิ วา รโห✎ ร่าง
āvi vā yadi vā raho.
either openly or in secret.
สเจว ๒- ปาปกํ กมฺมํ✎ ร่าง
Sace ca pāpakaṁ kammaṁ,
If you should do a bad deed,
อ้างอิงฉัฏฐสังคายนา 23.242
กริสฺสสิ กโรสิ วา✎ ร่าง
karissasi karosi vā;
or you’re doing one now,
น เต ทุกฺขา ปมุตฺยตฺถิ✎ ร่าง
Na te dukkhā pamutyatthi,
you won’t be freed from suffering,
อุปฺปจฺจาปิ ปลายโตติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
uppaccāpi palāyato”ti.
though you fly away and flee.”
