[๑๔] ก็นามรูปเป็นไฉน เวทนา สัญญา เจตนา ผัสสะ มนสิการ นี้เรียกว่านาม มหาภูตรูป ๔ และรูปที่อาศัยมหาภูตรูป ๔ นี้เรียกว่ารูป นามและ รูปดังพรรณนามาฉะนี้ เรียกว่านามรูป ฯ

Vedanā, saññā, cetanā, phasso, manasikāro—

Feeling, perception, intention, contact, and application of mind.

อิทํ วุจฺจติ นามํ ฯ✎ ร่าง

idaṁ vuccati nāmaṁ.

This is called name.

จตฺตาโร มหาภูตา จตุนฺนญฺจ มหาภูตานํ อุปาทายรูปํ✎ ร่าง

Cattāro ca mahābhūtā, catunnañca mahābhūtānaṁ upādāyarūpaṁ.

The four principal states, and form derived from the four principal states.

Idaṁ vuccati rūpaṁ.

This is called form.

Iti idañca nāmaṁ, idañca rūpaṁ.

Such is name and such is form.
