อสงฺขตญฺจ โว ภิกฺขเว เทสิสฺสามิ อสงฺขตคามิญฺจ
มคฺคํ ตํ สุณาถ ฯ✎ ร่าง
“Asaṅkhatañca vo, bhikkhave, desessāmi asaṅkhatagāmiñca maggaṁ.
“Mendicants, I will teach you the unconditioned and the path that leads to the unconditioned.

กตมญฺจ ภิกฺขเว อสงฺขตํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Katamañca, bhikkhave, asaṅkhataṁ?
And what is the unconditioned?
โย ภิกฺขเว
ราคกฺขโย โทสกฺขโย โมหกฺขโย ฯ✎ ร่าง
Yo, bhikkhave, rāgakkhayo dosakkhayo mohakkhayo—
The ending of greed, hate, and delusion.
อิทํ วุจฺจติ ภิกฺขเว อสงฺขตํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
idaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, asaṅkhataṁ.
This is called the unconditioned.
กตโม จ ภิกฺขเว อสงฺขตคามิมคฺโค ฯ✎ ร่าง
Katamo ca, bhikkhave, asaṅkhatagāmimaggo?
And what is the path that leads to the unconditioned?
สมโถ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Samatho.
Serenity.
อยํ วุจฺจติ ภิกฺขเว
อสงฺขตคามิมคฺโค ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, asaṅkhatagāmimaggo.
This is called the path that leads to the unconditioned.
อิติ โข ภิกฺขเว เทสิตํ โว มยา อสงฺขตํ
เทสิโต อสงฺขตคามิมคฺโค ฯ✎ ร่าง
Iti kho, bhikkhave, desitaṁ vo mayā asaṅkhataṁ, desito asaṅkhatagāmimaggo.
So, mendicants, I’ve taught you the unconditioned and the path that leads to the unconditioned.
ยํ ภิกฺขเว สตฺถารา กรณียํ สาวกานํ
หิเตสินา อนุกมฺปเกน อนุกมฺปํ อุปาทาย กตํ โว ตํ มยา ฯ✎ ร่าง
Yaṁ, bhikkhave, satthārā karaṇīyaṁ sāvakānaṁ hitesinā anukampakena anukampaṁ upādāya, kataṁ vo taṁ mayā.
Out of sympathy, I’ve done what a teacher should do who wants what’s best for their disciples.
เอตานิ ภิกฺขเว รุกฺขมูลานิ เอตานิ สุญฺญาคารานิ ฯ ฌายถ
ภิกฺขเว มา ปมาทตฺถ มา ปจฺฉา วิปฺปฏิสาริโน อหุวตฺถ ฯ
อยํ โว อมฺหากํ อนุสาสนีติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Etāni, bhikkhave, rukkhamūlāni, etāni suññāgārāni. Jhāyatha, bhikkhave, mā pamādattha; mā pacchā vippaṭisārino ahuvattha. Ayaṁ vo amhākaṁ anusāsanīti.
Here are these roots of trees, and here are these empty huts. Practice absorption, mendicants! Don’t be negligent! Don’t regret it later! This is my instruction to you.”
