[๑๕๓๔] ดูกรมหาบพิตร ก็บุคคลบางคนในโลกนี้ ไม่ประกอบด้วยความเลื่อมใสอัน
ไม่หวั่นไหวในพระพุทธเจ้า ... ในพระธรรม ... ในพระสงฆ์ ... ไม่มีปัญญาร่าเริง ไม่เฉียบแหลม
และไม่ประกอบด้วยวิมุติ แต่ว่าเขามีธรรมเหล่านี้ คือ สัทธินทรีย์ วิริยินทรีย์ สตินทรีย์
สมาธินทรีย์ ปัญญินทรีย์ ธรรมทั้งหลาย ที่พระตถาคตประกาศแล้ว ย่อมทนซึ่งการเพ่งด้วยปัญญา
ของเขา (ยิ่ง) กว่าประมาณ บุคคลแม้นี้ก็ไม่ไปสู่นรก กำเนิดสัตว์ดิรัจฉาน ปิตติวิสัย อบาย

อิธ ปน มหานาม เอกจฺโจ ปุคฺคโล น เหว โข
พุทฺเธ อเวจฺจปฺปสาเทน สมนฺนาคโต โหติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Idha pana, mahānāma, ekacco puggalo na heva kho buddhe aveccappasādena samannāgato hoti …
Take another individual who doesn’t have experiential confidence in the Buddha …

na dhamme …pe…
the teaching …

สงฺเฆ ฯ✎ ร่าง
na saṅghe …pe…
the Saṅgha …
น หาสปญฺโญ น ชวนปญฺโญ น จ วิมุตฺติยา
สมนฺนาคโต ฯ✎ ร่าง
na hāsapañño na javanapañño na ca vimuttiyā samannāgato.
They don’t have laughing wisdom or swift wisdom, nor are they endowed with freedom.
อปิจสฺส อิเม ธมฺมา โหนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Api cassa ime dhammā honti—
Still, they have these qualities:
สทฺธินฺทฺริยํ
วิริยินฺทฺริยํ สตินฺทฺริยํ สมาธินฺทฺริยํ ปญฺญินฺทฺริยํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
saddhindriyaṁ, vīriyindriyaṁ, satindriyaṁ, samādhindriyaṁ, paññindriyaṁ.
the faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom.
ตถาคตปฺปเวทิตา
จสฺส ธมฺมา ปญฺญาย มตฺตโส นิชฺฌานํ ขมนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Tathāgatappaveditā cassa dhammā paññāya mattaso nijjhānaṁ khamanti.
And they accept the teachings proclaimed by the Realized One after deliberating them with a degree of wisdom.
อยมฺปิ โข
มหานาม ปุคฺคโล อคนฺตา นิรยํ อคนฺตา ติรจฺฉานโยนึ อคนฺตา
ปิตฺติวิสยํ อคนฺตา อปายทุคฺคติวินิปาตํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ayampi kho, mahānāma, puggalo agantā nirayaṁ agantā tiracchānayoniṁ agantā pettivisayaṁ agantā apāyaṁ duggatiṁ vinipātaṁ.
This individual, too, doesn’t go to hell, the animal realm, and the ghost realm. They don’t go to places of loss, bad places, the underworld.
