[๒๐๓] จริงอยู่ พระสูตรนี้พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสแล้ว พระสูตรนี้
พระผู้มีพระภาคผู้เป็นพระอรหันต์ตรัสแล้ว เพราะเหตุนั้น ข้าพเจ้าได้สดับมาแล้วว่า
ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เมื่อบุคคลล่วงธรรมอย่างหนึ่งแล้ว เรากล่าวว่า บาปกรรมไรๆ
อันเขาจะไม่พึงทำไม่มีเลย ธรรมอย่างหนึ่งเป็นไฉน คือ สัมปชานมุสาวาท ฯ
พระผู้มีพระภาคได้ตรัสเนื้อความนี้แล้ว ในพระสูตรนั้น พระผู้มีพระภาค
ตรัสคาถาประพันธ์ดังนี้ว่า ฯ
บาปกรรม ที่สัตว์ผู้เป็นคนมักพูดเท็จ ล่วงธรรมอย่างหนึ่งแล้ว
ข้ามโลกหน้าเสียแล้ว จะไม่พึงทำ ไม่มีเลย ฯ
เนื้อความแม้นี้พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสแล้ว เพราะเหตุนั้น ข้าพเจ้าได้สดับมาแล้ว
ฉะนี้แล ฯ
วุตฺตํ เหตํ ภควตา วุตฺตมรหตาติ เม สุตํ✎ ร่าง
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

เอกธมฺมํ
อตีตสฺส ภิกฺขเว ปุริสปุคฺคลสฺส นาหํ ตสฺส กิญฺจิ ปาปกมฺมํ
อกรณียนฺติ วทามิ✎ ร่าง
“Ekadhammaṁ atītassa, bhikkhave, purisapuggalassa nāhaṁ tassa kiñci pāpakammaṁ akaraṇīyanti vadāmi.
“Mendicants, for an individual person who transgresses in one thing, there is no bad deed they would not do, I say.
กตมํ เอกธมฺมํ✎ ร่าง
Katamaṁ ekadhammaṁ?
What one thing?
ยถยิทํ ภิกฺขเว สมฺปชาน-
มุสาวาโทติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Yadidaṁ, bhikkhave, sampajānamusāvādo”ti.
It is this: telling a deliberate lie.”
เอตมตฺถํ ภควา อโวจ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca.
The Buddha spoke this matter.
ตตฺเถตํ อิติ วุจฺจติ✎ ร่าง
Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
On this it is said:
เอกธมฺมํ อตีตสฺส✎ ร่าง
“Ekadhammaṁ atītassa,
“When a personage, spurning the hereafter,
มุสาวาทิสฺส ชนฺตุโน✎ ร่าง
musāvādissa jantuno;
transgresses in just one thing—
วิติณฺณปรโลกสฺส✎ ร่าง
Vitiṇṇaparalokassa,
lying—
นตฺถิ ปาปํ อการิยนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
natthi pāpaṁ akāriyan”ti.
there is no evil they would not do.”
อยมฺปิ อตฺโถ วุตฺโต ภควตา อิติ เม สุตนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
