[๒๓๔] จริงอยู่ พระสูตรนี้พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสแล้ว พระสูตรนี้
พระผู้มีพระภาคผู้เป็นพระอรหันต์ตรัสแล้ว เพราะเหตุนั้น ข้าพเจ้าได้สดับมา
แล้วว่า ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย อาสวะ ๓ ประการนี้ ๓ ประการเป็นไฉน คือ
กามาสวะ ๑ ภวาสวะ ๑ อวิชชาสวะ ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย อาสวะ ๓ ประการ
นี้แล ฯ
พระผู้มีพระภาคได้ตรัสเนื้อความนี้แล้ว ในพระสูตรนั้น พระผู้มีพระภาค
ตรัสคาถาประพันธ์ดังนี้ว่า
สาวกของพระพุทธเจ้าผู้มีจิตตั้งมั่น ผู้รู้ทั่ว มีสติ ย่อมรู้ชัด
ซึ่งอาสวะทั้งหลาย เหตุเกิดแห่งอาสวะทั้งหลาย ธรรมเป็น
ที่ดับแห่งอาสวะทั้งหลาย และมรรคอันให้ถึงความสิ้นไปแห่ง
อาสวะทั้งหลาย ภิกษุหายหิวแล้ว ดับรอบแล้ว เพราะความ
สิ้นไปแห่งอาสวะทั้งหลาย ฯ
เนื้อความแม้นี้พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสแล้ว เพราะเหตุนั้น ข้าพเจ้าได้สดับมาแล้ว

Paṭhamaāsavasutta
Defilements (1st)
วุตฺตํ เหตํ ภควตา วุตฺตมรหตาติ เม สุตํ✎ ร่าง
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

ตโยเม
ภิกฺขเว อาสวา✎ ร่าง
“Tayome, bhikkhave, āsavā.
“Mendicants, there are these three defilements.
กตเม ตโย✎ ร่าง
Katame tayo?
What three?
กามาสโว ภวาสโว อวิชฺชาสโว ฯ✎ ร่าง
Kāmāsavo, bhavāsavo, avijjāsavo—
The defilements of sensuality, desire to be reborn, and ignorance.
อิเม โข ภิกฺขเว ตโย อาสวาติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
ime kho, bhikkhave, tayo āsavā”ti.
These are the three defilements.”
เอตมตฺถํ ภควา อโวจ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca.
The Buddha spoke this matter.
ตตฺเถตํ อิติ วุจฺจติ✎ ร่าง
Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
On this it is said:
สมาหิโต สมฺปชาโน✎ ร่าง
“Samāhito sampajāno,
“Stilled, aware,
สโต พุทฺธสฺส สาวโก✎ ร่าง
sato buddhassa sāvako;
a mindful disciple of the Buddha
อาสเว จ ปชานาติ✎ ร่าง
Āsave ca pajānāti,
understands defilements,
อาสวานญฺจ สมฺภวํ✎ ร่าง
āsavānañca sambhavaṁ.
the cause of defilements,
ยตฺถ เจตา นิรุชฺฌนฺติ✎ ร่าง
Yattha cetā nirujjhanti,
where they cease,

มคฺคญฺจ ขยคามินํ✎ ร่าง
maggañca khayagāminaṁ;
and the path that leads to their ending.
อาสวานํ ขยา ภิกฺขุ✎ ร่าง
Āsavānaṁ khayā bhikkhu,
With the ending of defilements, a mendicant
นิจฺฉาโต ปรินิพฺพุโตติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
nicchāto parinibbuto”ti.
is hungerless, quenched.”
อยมฺปิ อตฺโถ วุตฺโต ภควตา อิติ เม สุตนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
