วุตฺตํ เหตํ ภควตา วุตฺตมรหตาติ เม สุตํ✎ ร่าง
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:
This was said by the Buddha, the Perfected One: that is what I heard.

ตีณีมานิ
ภิกฺขเว อินฺทฺริยานิ✎ ร่าง
“Tīṇimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni.
“Mendicants, there are these three faculties.
กตมานิ ตีณิ✎ ร่าง
Katamāni tīṇi?
What three?
อนญฺญาตญฺญสฺสามีตินฺทฺริยํ ๑-
อญฺญินฺทฺริยํ อญฺญาตาวินฺทฺริยํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Anaññātaññassāmītindriyaṁ, aññindriyaṁ, aññātāvindriyaṁ—
The faculty of understanding that enlightenment is imminent. The faculty of enlightenment. The faculty of one who is enlightened.
อิมานิ โข ภิกฺขเว ตีณิ อินฺทฺริยานีติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
imāni kho, bhikkhave, tīṇi indriyānī”ti.
These are the three faculties.”
เอตมตฺถํ ภควา อโวจ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca.
The Buddha spoke this matter.
ตตฺเถตํ อิติ วุจฺจติ✎ ร่าง
Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
On this it is said:
เสกฺขสฺส สิกฺขมานสฺส✎ ร่าง
“Sekhassa sikkhamānassa,
“As a trainee trains,
อุชุมคฺคานุสาริโน✎ ร่าง
ujumaggānusārino;
following the straight road,
ขยสฺมึ ปฐมํ ญาณํ✎ ร่าง
Khayasmiṁ paṭhamaṁ ñāṇaṁ,
first they know about ending;
ตโต อญฺญา อนนฺตรา✎ ร่าง
tato aññā anantarā.
enlightenment follows without delay.
ตโต อญฺญา วิมุตฺตสฺส✎ ร่าง
Tato aññāvimuttassa,
Then the knowledge comes
ญาณํ เว โหติ ตาทิโน✎ ร่าง
ñāṇaṁ ve hoti tādino;
to such a one, freed through enlightenment,
อกุปฺปา เม วิมุตฺตีติ✎ ร่าง
Akuppā me vimuttīti,
with the end of the fetters of continued existence:
ภวสํโยชนกฺขยา✎ ร่าง
bhavasaṁyojanakkhayā.
‘My freedom is unshakable.’
สเจ ๒- อินฺทฺริยสมฺปนฺโน✎ ร่าง
Sa ve indriyasampanno,
Accomplished in the faculties,

สนฺโต สนฺติปเท รโต✎ ร่าง
santo santipade rato;
peaceful, in love with the state of peace,
ธาเรติ อนฺติมํ เทหํ✎ ร่าง
Dhāreti antimaṁ dehaṁ,
they bear their final body,
เชตฺวา มารํ สวาหนนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
jetvā māraṁ savāhinin”ti.
having vanquished Māra with his legions.”
อยมฺปิ อตฺโถ วุตฺโต ภควตา อิติ เม สุตนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
