[๒๗๖] ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย บุคคลผู้ประกอบแล้วด้วยกามโยคะ ผู้-
*ประกอบแล้วด้วยภวโยคะ เป็นอาคามี ยังต้องมาสู่ความเป็นอย่างนี้ (คืออัตภาพ
แห่งมนุษย์) ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย พระอริยบุคคลผู้พรากแล้วจากกามโยคะ (แต่)
ยังประกอบด้วยภวโยคะ เป็นอนาคามี ไม่มาสู่ความเป็นอย่างนี้ ดูกรภิกษุ
ทั้งหลาย พระอริยบุคคลผู้พรากแล้วจากกามโยคะ พรากแล้วจากภวโยคะ เป็น
พระอรหันตขีณาสพ ฯ
สัตว์ทั้งหลายผู้ประกอบแล้วด้วยกามโยคะและภวโยคะ ย่อม
ไปสู่สงสารซึ่งมีปรกติถึงความเกิดและความตาย ส่วนสัตว์
เหล่าใดละกามทั้งหลายได้เด็ดขาด แต่ยังไม่ถึงความสิ้นไป
แห่งอาสวะ ยังประกอบด้วยภวโยคะ สัตว์เหล่านั้นบัณฑิต
กล่าวว่า เป็นพระอนาคามี ส่วนสัตว์เหล่าใด ตัดความสงสัย
ได้แล้ว มีมานะและมีภพใหม่สิ้นแล้ว ถึงความสิ้นไปแห่ง
อาสวะทั้งหลายแล้ว สัตว์เหล่านั้นแลถึงฝั่งแล้วในโลก ฯ
กามโยคยุตฺโต ภิกฺขเว ภวโยคยุตฺโต อาคามี
โหติ อาคนฺตฺวา ๓- อิตฺถตฺตํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
“Kāmayogayutto, bhikkhave, bhavayogayutto āgāmī hoti āgantā itthattaṁ.
“Mendicants, one yoked to both sensual pleasures and rebirth is a returner, who comes back to this place.
กามโยควิสํยุตฺโต ภิกฺขเว ภวโยคยุตฺโต
อนาคามี โหติ อนาคนฺตฺวา อิตฺถตฺตํ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Kāmayogavisaṁyutto, bhikkhave, bhavayogayutto anāgāmī hoti anāgantā itthattaṁ.
One unyoked from sensual pleasures but still yoked to rebirth is a non-returner, who comes not back to this place.
กามโยควิสํยุตฺโต
ภิกฺขเว ภวโยควิสํยุตฺโต อรหํ โหติ ขีณาสโวติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
Kāmayogavisaṁyutto, bhikkhave, bhavayogavisaṁyutto arahā hoti, khīṇāsavo”ti.
One unyoked from both sensual pleasures and rebirth is a perfected one, who has ended defilements.”

Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca.
The Buddha spoke this matter.

Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
On this it is said:
กามโยเคน สํยุตฺตา✎ ร่าง
“Kāmayogena saṁyuttā,
“Yoked to both sensual pleasures

ภวโยเคน จูภยํ✎ ร่าง
bhavayogena cūbhayaṁ;
and the desire to be reborn in a future life;
สตฺตา คจฺฉนฺติ สํสารํ✎ ร่าง
Sattā gacchanti saṁsāraṁ,
sentient beings continue to transmigrate,
ชาติมรณคามินนฺติ ๔- ฯ✎ ร่าง
jātimaraṇagāmino.
with ongoing birth and death.
เย จ กาเม ปหนฺตฺวาน✎ ร่าง
Ye ca kāme pahantvāna,
Those who’ve given up sensual pleasures
อปฺปตฺตา อาสวกฺขยํ✎ ร่าง
appattā āsavakkhayaṁ;
without attaining the end of defilements,
ภวโยเคน สํยุตฺตา✎ ร่าง
Bhavayogena saṁyuttā,
and are still yoked to being reborn,
อนาคามีติ วุจฺจเร ฯ✎ ร่าง
anāgāmīti vuccare.
are said to be non-returners.
เย จ โข ฉินฺนสํสยา✎ ร่าง
Ye ca kho chinnasaṁsayā,
Those who have cut off doubt,

ขีณมานปุนพฺภวา✎ ร่าง
khīṇamānapunabbhavā;
and ended conceit and future lives,
เต เว ปารคตา โลเก✎ ร่าง
Te ve pāraṅgatā loke,
they’re the ones in this world who’ve truly crossed over,
เย ปตฺตา อาสวกฺขยนฺติ ฯ✎ ร่าง
ye pattā āsavakkhayan”ti.
having reached the ending of defilements.”

Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.
This too is a matter that was spoken by the Blessed One: that is what I heard.
