[๔๓๘] พระมหากัสสปะท่านเป็นโอรสของพระพุทธเจ้า เป็นทายาทของพระ- พุทธเจ้า เป็นผู้มีจิตตั้งมั่นดีแล้ว รู้ระลึกถึงชาติก่อนๆ ได้ ทั้งเห็น สวรรค์และอบาย อนึ่ง ท่านบรรลุอรหัต อันเป็นความสิ้นไปแห่งชาติ เป็นผู้เสร็จกิจแล้วเพราะรู้ยิ่ง เป็นมุนี เป็นพราหมณ์ผู้มีวิชชา ๓ ด้วยวิชชา ๓ เหล่านี้ นางภัททกาปิลานีเป็นผู้มีวิชชา ๓ เหมือนพระมหากัสสปะ เป็น ผู้ละมัจจุชนะมารพร้อมทั้งพาหนะแล้ว ย่อมทรงไว้ซึ่งร่างกายอันมีในที่สุด เราทั้งสองบวชแล้วเพราะเห็นโทษในโลก เราทั้งสองนั้นเป็นผู้มีอาสวะ สิ้นแล้ว มีอินทรีย์อันฝึกแล้ว เป็นผู้มีความเย็นใจ ดับสนิทแล้ว.

Kassapa is the son and heir of the Buddha,

kassapo susamāhito;

whose mind is immersed in samādhi.

ปุพฺเพนิวาสํ โสเวทิ✎ ร่าง

Pubbenivāsaṁ yovedi,

He who knows his past lives,

thig4.1:1.4 #

สคฺคาปายญฺจ ปสฺสติ✎ ร่าง

saggāpāyañca passati.

sees heaven and places of loss,

thig4.1:2.1 #

อโถ ชาติกฺขยํ ปตฺโต✎ ร่าง

Atho jātikkhayaṁ patto,

and has attained the end of rebirth:

อภิญฺญาโวสิโต มุนิ✎ ร่าง

abhiññāvosito muni;

is a sage of perfect insight.

เอตาหิ ตีหิ วิชฺชาหิ✎ ร่าง

Etāhi tīhi vijjāhi,

It’s because of these three knowledges

เตวิชฺโช โหติ พฺราหฺมโณ ฯ✎ ร่าง

tevijjo hoti brāhmaṇo.

that the brahmin is a master of the three knowledges.

ตเถว ภทฺทกาปิลานี✎ ร่าง

Tatheva bhaddā kāpilānī,

In exactly the same way, Bhaddā daughter of Kapila

thig4.1:3.2 #

เตวิชฺชา มจฺจุหายินี✎ ร่าง

tevijjā maccuhāyinī;

is master of the three knowledges, conqueror of death.

thig4.1:3.3 #

ธาเรติ อนฺติมํ เทหํ✎ ร่าง

Dhāreti antimaṁ dehaṁ,

She bears her final body,

เชตฺวา มารํ สวาหนํ ฯ✎ ร่าง

jetvā māraṁ savāhiniṁ.

having vanquished Māra with his legions.

ทิสฺวา อาทีนวํ โลเก✎ ร่าง

Disvā ādīnavaṁ loke,

Seeing the danger of the world,

thig4.1:4.2 #

อุโภ ปพฺพชิตา มยํ✎ ร่าง

ubho pabbajitā mayaṁ;

both of us went forth.

ตฺยมฺห ขีณาสวา ทนฺตา✎ ร่าง

Tyamha khīṇāsavā dantā,

Now we are tamed, our defilements have ended;

สีติภูตมฺห นิพฺพุตาติ ฯ✎ ร่าง

sītibhūtamha nibbutā”ti.

we’ve become cooled and quenched.
